Astros Sign OF Jason Heyward
The Houston Astros have signed outfielder Jason Heyward to a minor league contract. Heyward, a former All-Star and Gold Glove winner, was released by the Chicago Cubs earlier this month.
Heyward is a veteran presence who can provide the Astros with some depth in the outfield. He is a good hitter against left-handed pitching and can also play first base.
Astros Activate RHP Ryan Pressly (Back)
The Astros have activated right-handed pitcher Ryan Pressly from the injured list. Pressly has been out since July 20 with a back injury.
Pressly is a key member of the Astros' bullpen. He has a 3.18 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 39 appearances this season.
The Astros are hoping that Pressly can help them solidify their bullpen down the stretch and into the playoffs.
